Gulf Aluminium Rolling Mill Co. (GARMCO) is a leading manufacturing company based in Bahrain.
Job Description Installs, assembles and configures computers, monitors, network infrastructure and peripherals such as printers, scanners and related hardware; pulls cables and rewires or directs the rewiring of cables as required for new installations and office reconfiguration. Troubleshoots problems with computer systems, including troubleshooting hardware and software, e-mail, network and peripheral equipment problems; makes repairs and corrections where required Assists Network Eengineers in evaluating and selecting new or upgraded hardware (Desktop, Laptop, Printer, Scanner and peripherals) and software systems Coordinates timely repair of Desktops, Laptops, printers, scanners and other computer related peripherals equipment covered by third-party vendor warranty or maintenance agreements Provides one-on-one end-user problem resolution over the phone or email. Attends Helpdesk incidents from users, and provides assistance to resolve raised issues. In addition he/she shall coordinates with other relevant ICT Staff or other departments to ensure that incidents are efficiently addressed. Creates network and email accounts, updates and maintains accurate personnel data in the Active Directory. . Delivers, tags, sets up Desktop and Laptop hardware and peripherals. Identifies, diagnoses, and resolves Desktop and Laptop hardware and software problems, printer, scanner and peripheral device problems. Diagnoses and resolves e-mail, Internet, dial in, and local-area network access problems. Performs minor hardware repair for Desktops, Laptop and peripherals that are not covered by third-party vendor Warranty or maintenance agreements. Makes hardware and software acquisition recommendations including helping users, assess needs and providing justification for equipment and services. Maintains technical documentation of Desktops, Laptops, Printers, Scanners and peripherals as per GARMCO standards. that technical documentation is carried out as per GARMCO standards. Install and maintain local area network cabling systems and equipments such as network switches, patch panels, wall sockets and interface cards. Participates in installing active LAN components such as network switches, routers, firewalls, VPN concentrators, IPS systems etc Diagnoses and resolves network component problems, and takes corrective actions to prevent recurrences Plans, prepares and tests user environment before deploying new releases and/or patches. Ensures that GARMCO ICT security policies are adhered to by users. Promotes responsible usage and care of GARMCO ICT equipments. Maintains current knowledge of hardware, software and network technology and recommends modifications as necessary Reports progress on the activities performed as per the ICT department defined format and frequency Must maintain a daily timesheet of his/her daily activities detailing time spent in each activity Providing business solutions support on 24x7 basis. Should be on ICT duty roster schedule at least once in each cycle. This involves being present in GARMCO premises on weekends and holidays as per the defined ICT policy. Adheres to and conduct activities in accordance with GARMCO ICT policies Carries out any other related tasks as assigned by superiors.
