Job Description

To perform initial fill up of systems with water, additives, fuel oil and lub oil. Assist Commissioning Engineer/ Supervisor in lining up piping and mechanical systems prior start up. Perform basic checks on systems like valves operation, recording pressure gauges read outs, flange management, foundation tightness check and free rotation of machineries. Being able to recognize basic problems like excess noise, vibration from machineries and inform Commissioning Engineer. Recording of parameters during the system tests. Capable of performing watch keeping functions, when required. Leading a team of 6-8 fitters/ welders to carry out minor repairs. Obtain permits from Safety Inspector prior start up of Commissioning. Maintaining record of lub oil, fuel oil, chemicals consumptions. Topping up the fluid during running time of machineries. Be able to follow instructions given by Service Engineers and assist as required. Coordinating with relevant departments within the Yard and subcontractors during commissioning activities. Will be responsible for development and continuous improvement of skill of sub-ordinates. Maintain daily log book. To comply with Drydocks World-Dubai OH&S and Quality Procedures.
