Production Manager, Heat Exchange Factory

at Leading Engineering Manufacturing group based in United Arab Emirates - Sharjah

Purpose of Job Role:

Responsible for the effectiveness, continuous efficiency improvement and smooth flow of the coil production process, to constantly produce coils as per design and contract agreement with customers, while ensuring the compliance of the production operation with the company’s Quality, Safety and Environmental systems.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • To assign tasks to Team Leaders, Effective Supervision and ensuring quality & timely accomplishment of such tasks.
  • Professional Management of overall Production function of HEF. Effective planning of all Production activities of HEF, proper implementation of Production Plan & Strategies.
  • To conduct the performance evaluation of Team Leaders (also to review their evaluation of their subordinates) and to submit evaluation forms for final approval by Factory Manager.
  • To ensure sufficiency of well trained manpower based on forecasts/future demands and to plan for all training needs of the employees of Heat Exchange Factory.

To ensure:

* Safety of Workers and compliance to Company’s Uniform * Safe, Clean and Organized Production Area with proper Identification & Traceability * Well-Maintained and Safely Operating Machines * Protected Environment * Documented Production Process with all Resources, Activities, Procedures and Sequences to be constantly updated
  • To coordinate with HEF Manager and MRP in planning the production taking in consideration available resources ensuring the time delivery in the right Quantity / Quality of scheduled orders.
  • To ensure that production activities are in accordance to Production-Standard-Specifications, Work tickets and Production Orders.
  • To liaise with Sales, Design, MRP, Maintenance & Projects, Stores, Purchase and other departments to ensure effectiveness of mutually agreed objectives and to manage Maintenance of machines and Quality related issues. Also to ensure solving problems via alternatives, replacements, change of duty hours, change of sequence etc.
  • Eliminate and Control non-value-added production activities ensuring dealing with causes that generated them.
  • Control sections manpower Transfer, Attendance, Working hours, Go Home, Vacation, Overtime, Sick/Casual Leave and Shifts to achieve the set Objectives and Plans. Approve all sorts of worker’s leave applications.
  • Assigning non-production / administrative tasks as approved by Factory Manager, related to outside projects or spare-parts requirements to concerned team leaders/workers utilizing the production resources without affecting the Coil production.
  • Reporting the annual budgetary requirement of the Production department and ensuring the effectiveness of set budgets.
  • Assisting in the recruitment process of Coil Factory personnel and effective training of new staff / workers and grooming existing staff
  • Communicating with the Factory Manager on behalf of the entire production workforce. Timely and effective preparation of the various Production Reports. Maintain proper records and documents of the HE factory.
  • Co-operating with the department staff in dealing with non-conformities and the corrective/preventive actions required rectifying them.
  • Ensure quality within processes and products at all levels.

Previous Experience/Skills:

* As a minimum, 5 years working experience as a production manager preferably from a Coil / Heat Exchanger or Refrigerator / Air Conditioner manufacturing firm handling Coil Production Management. * Worked in a manufacturing environment, which has an integrated Quality, Safety and Environment assurance system. * Strong skills at motivating teams of people. * Highly organized and result oriented with the ability to handle many tasks simultaneously. * Ability to liaise and co-ordinate the activities of a number of departments.

Education:

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering, preferably with Heat Exchange major.
  • Professional Training in Heat Exchanger / Coil Production Process would be essential.
  • Certification / Training in Quality Management System / exposure to ISO Standards shall be advantageous.
  • Ability to work on MS Office applications and Production Management Systems would be desirable.

Language:

  • Fluent in written and spoken English.
  • Knowledge of other languages like Tagalog, Malay or Thai would be advantageous.
