Job Description

1)To provide process engineering support and technical expertise to both Production Department in fulfilling its objectives. Prepares technical reports and studies as directed by the Lead Process Engineer. Participates in plant modification and other projects. 

2)Ensure process engineering support is provided to all concerned departments such as Production, Maintenance and Technical Planning and Control according to their requests. 

3)Investigate and document the unscheduled shutdowns and plant interruptions caused by equipment or systems. 

4)Ensure day-to-day support to the manufacturing department in resolving plant and process problems by monitoring and analyzing plant operating parameters. 

5)Conducts plant study (PCR) for on-going plant problems. 

6)Participates in the preparation of process design packages for plant modifications (PCRs) and involve in detail engineering, execution, start-up and commissioning of the projects. 

7)Develops various variable cost optimization (alternate catalyst, plant load optimization, additives optimization) energy saving recycling schemes and implement either as PCR or project. 

8)Verify and approve new projects and modifications prior to handover to the production to assure compliance with the approved design package. 

9)Check, verify and approve documentation to reflect the “as-built” condition as required. 

10)Study and analyze the new technical developments in process engineering to propose improvements and enhancements in the existing facilities. 

11)Act as the Project Engineer coordinating and supporting the contractor and the construction management for any company expansion project. 

12)Participate in any type of testing or site verification, pre-commissioning, commissioning, and start-up to ensure proper compliance.

Requirements

1)BE/BTech/BS, Degree in Chemical Engineering. 

2)Familiar with International standards, codes and regulations 

3)Thorough knowledge of plant maintenance practices, policies and procedures 

4)Computer literate in applicable software 

5)Minimum 8-10 years experience as a Process Engineer in petrochemical environment/engineering company 

6)Prior experience in TQM / ISO Environment 

7)Internal communication He maintains an open line with the other engineer discipline in carrying out process engineering designs and plant modifications. Works with the CADD/Draftsman in document preparation. Guides the in-development and work side by side in all engineering functions. He directly coordinates and shares his expertise with all the engineers in the Engineering Services, Maintenance and Production Departments. Directly reports to the Lead Process Engineer and meets with him to discuss day-to-day operations related problems on a needed basis 

8)External communication He coordinates with vendors and licensors regarding equipments and designs to resolve any problems or plant modifications related to his discipline. Maintains contacts with local international organizations and attends meetings as required.
