Systems Engineer, Oracle Admin

CrimsonLogic Pte Ltd in Qatar - Doha

  1. PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Provide DB administration for production , test and development environments, according to to the established policy and procedure.
• Ensure all production Oracle database is available on a 24×7 basis.
• Have experience with development, test and production environments, maintaining multiple instances.
• Maximize uptime of databases through appropriate tuning, sizing and spacing.
• Optimize database performance, document procedures for optimization.
• able to perform administration task such as tuning, db sizing , creation/deletion of db, upgrade.
• Establish, maintain and verify database backup and recovery procedures.
• Review, assess and perform Database hardening, regular database patching, Operating system patching.
• Manage vendors on problem resolution and escalation.
• Creation and maintenance of system and troubleshooting documentation.
• Create, support and maintain :
1) Database and server scripting.
2) regular DB patching and IBM AIX operating system patching.
3) Server and database monitoring e.g alert via sms and email
• Provide support on AIX blade server problem escalation and resolution.
• Provide daily AIX system administration and monitoring.
• Provide support for DR
• Generate monthly report on server’s performance, usage for customer review
• Other duties as assigned.

  1. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

1. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field. Related experience may substitute for degree on a year for year basis up to four years.
2. At least 4 years experience in support IBM AIX V5 operating system , candidate with experience on blade server will be preferred.
3. At least Four (4) years experience
(a) as a DBA with Oracle certification and experience with Oracle Database10g, 11i or higher.
(b) in administering oracle database and RAC in 24×7 operation environment and experience as an Oracle Database Administrator for Oracle version 8.x or higher, with all aspects of installation and configuration of the server Oracle.
4. Experience in managing J2EE 3 tier architecture system.
5. Experience with Oracle Support Metalink and submission of Technical Assistance Requests (TARs).
6. Experience with IBM Support .
