Company Profile Ma'aden was formed as a Saudi joint stock company on 23 March 1997 (corresponding to 14/11/1417H) for the purpose of facilitating the development of Saudi Arabia's mineral resources. To date Ma'aden's activities have focused on its active gold business which has grown in recent years to include the operation of five gold mines: Mahd Ad Dahab, Al Hajar, Sukhaybarat, Bulghah, and Al Amar. Ma'aden is now expanding its activities beyond its gold business with the development of its Phosphate Project, Aluminium Project, and Other Projects. In addition, since its formation, Ma'aden (through the Ministry of Petroleum & Mineral Resources) has collaborated with the Government and local legislators to develop a regulatory framework for the governance of the mining industry in Saudi Arabia. Ma'aden's gold business is operated through its gold division which explores for precious and base metals within Saudi Arabia. It currently operates five gold mines in Saudi Arabia: Mahd Ad Dahab, Al Hajar, Sukhaybarat, Bulghah, and Al Amar. Ma'aden is also developing one more mining property in Ad Duwayhi and has five advanced exploration projects. Job Description
Assists and provides advice to Vice President - Finance in all matters relating to raising of amounts through debt and equity and funds through other complex mix of financing, optimal capital structure, funding facilities structures, sponsor issues, cash flow controls. Assist VP in ensuring advice from our financial and other advisors is timely and in best interest of Ma'aden. Review and comment on preliminary information memorandum, loan documentation, financial agreements and assist take road show to major financial centres. Review and suggest options on risk management and operations. Evaluates and advises on ERP related business and functional issues. Reviews Ma'aden's Accounting Policies to keep them updated. Analyses Financial Models for Projects for their completeness and risk analysis.
Designs and recommends the financing strategy necessary for Ma'aden to deliver US$ 12 billion in mineral resource based and infrastructure projects, taking in to account interdependence of phosphate, bauxite, infrastructure, port & railway projects, and current market activity.
Risk Management - Reviews and advices on projects sensitivities, projects risks analysis and its mitigating factors, considering projects completion risks and cost overrun risks by reviewing the feasibility studies, discussions with Financial/Equity Advisors etc.
Reviews and comments on risks management and operations - Insurance, Hedging, Legal structure, EPC contracting, Cash forecasting, Payments for appropriate control and safety mechanisms.
Reviews and comments on financial indicators such as IRR (Internal Rate of Returns), Payback period, NPV (Net Present Value), ROI (Return on Investments) and others are at sufficient levels to attract investors and lenders.
Engages with Financial/Equity Advisors & others, comment on capital raising & financial close on project finance facility, and assists Ma'aden in optimizing overall finance structure and strategy
Provides a recommendation on feasible financial structures for mining, beneficiation, individual conversion plants, utilities, port, social & other infrastructure, etc.
Looks at re-investment programs and re-financing opportunities to secure highest returns with minimum risks and optimize funding costs.
Reviews Financial Models for Projects with financial / technical feasibility studies for Models' completeness and comments on business / risk and sensitivity analysis.
Reviews Ma'aden ERP business applications, recommends more functionalities and Applications to be implemented to support Ma'aden business plans and strategies.
Involves in loan negotiation, in negotiating financial agreements with lead bankers, in preparation of loan documentations, and liaises with legal and financial advisors to prepare draft loan documentations.
